CSI is a research dedicated medical imaging facility that uses the technology of Computed Tomography to study hearing in both marine and land animals. It is part of the Marine Research Facility of Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution which also houses a full range of technology to do postmortem studies on marine animals including a full necropsy suite, 4 ton overhead rail system, and large capacity freezers and chillers for storage. Our CT scanner is capable of imaging a wide range of materials and specimens at an optimal resolution of 100 micron voxels or, for rapid imaging, at table speeds up to 1m/min data acquisition.
