Bizwiki is based on the powerful Drupal open source content management platform, augmented by a host of custom modules that have been developed in-house. Our servers run the popular LAMP stack of Linux, Apache, MySql and PHP.
We chose Drupal because it allows us to rapidly develop and offer a wide range of features and services, layered on top of a robust user and content management system.
Currently in beta launch for the UK, Bizwiki is a business wiki that accepts free business listings, reviews of businesses by consumers and allows registered users to edit and add to business information. US and other country versions to follow.
The site is outstanding, it will be interesting to see how they scale it. I would be interested in seeing some metrics/specs of the hardware and LAMP configuration.
I agree, its great to see Drupal being chosen more and more often for huge and highly featured sites like that.
Any idea when that good old U S of A version comes out?

Thanks for the kind comments. The US version is on the cards for early next year. We see using the smaller UK market as an ideal test case before moving into the US.
