Social Theory is a custom built companion website built to accompany an educational textbook. The visual design of the website revolves around the cover of the textbook.
It works as an e-learning website and as such, instructors and students have separate account areas where they can mark tests, provide feedback, and review their marks. In addition to the materials given to the students through the site, it also contains information for the instructors with the intention that they can then use the drupal CMS to create their own tests for students. Both of these areas are secured by passwords and only accessible once logged in.
The Interactive Readings section is designed to keep students involved by having elements that are only viewable upon clicking to bring up the information in a specific part of the window.
The website also includes a tagging system that allows information on the site to be ordered through themes, theorists, or theorist movements.
