Welcome to At-Risk Educational Services!

If you're an educator, you already know what the terms "at-risk students" and "students at-risk" mean. If not, those terms refer to students who are at-risk of either failing specific courses or failing to graduate, usually caused or influenced by their current home, family or economic situations.

Special training is usually needed, in order to help educators provide these students with the skills needed to overcome their specific obstacles. At-Risk Educational Services provides that special training, for academic professionals and students alike.

Thanks for visiting!

Comment From Texas Governor, Rick Perry

“Debbie Goforth is the sort of teacher and mentor that every school wants and every child needs in their lives. Her years of experience in bringing hope to children from hopeless situations qualify her as a bona fide expert on the transformational power of love. Time and again, her stories illustrate the age-old truth that, in the absence of love, the most intellectual words simply fall on deaf ears. She brings the human touch to teaching, sharing wisdom that will benefit anyone who would invest in the life of a child.”
Rick Perry
Governor of Texas

Comments: C.H.A.N.G.E. Conference In Birmingham AL

"I attended the C.H.A.N.G.E conference in Birmingham, Alabama. Ms. Debbie Goforth was an excellent and inspiring speaker. The passion she has for her at-risk students definitely shined through during her presentation. Ms. Goforth provided helpful information for educators and counselors to take back to their fellow colleagues. It was heart warming for me to have the opportunity to attend this type of workshop, because I do not meet individuals who share my passion for the kids who are viewed as "bad". I hope to attend another workshop again."more...

But have you asked yourself are you a part of the ripple effect? Or did you toss the rock in? Too many times, we wait for someone else...and just want to be apart of the ripple effect.more...

Give Away a Smile

Today as I drove home I noticed something sad. When I was stopped at a light, I looked at other drivers. No one, not one person had a smile on their face. They all had frowns. Unhappy looks. I know it is the end of a work day and people are tired. But it takes little effort to lift the corners of your mouth to create a smile.  Smiling is a universal language. Everyone understands a smile. So, lets give some smiles away.

Buckle-Up And Hang On, I'm Stepping Out Into The Blog World

I am a positive, upbeat, optimistic person, and that is the path that we will follow on this blog. There is enough negativity in the world, without me adding to it. I don't know where this journey will take us but I hope you enjoy the ride. Let's start with a motivational quote. I like quotes, sometimes it sums up lots of wordy thoughts into one simple sentence.more...
