As we enter the last quarter of 2008
Thanks to our Web Master for including the Church Calendar. Neat and useful feature!
As we enter the third quarter of the year 2008, some of us must have felt a sense of awe and perhaps even of bewilderment.
Awe because, despite the many happy and unhappy events happening around us, we are still alive and blessed in the Lord. Awe because He has been with us, even in our saddest moments. Awe because He has neither left us nor forsaken us. Just as He has promised!
We are bewildered or confused because we do not fully know or understand why certain things are happening as they do around us. We find no real answers to our questions although we are told the expansion of knowledge increases exponentially! Perhaps there are as many different answers as there are different perspectives! Or, are we too anxious of the uncertain future?
Someone once said the only thing that is constant is change. I beg to differ. I believe our God is constant; He was good, He is good and He will continue to be good. Good to all who belong to Him!
Yes, there will continue to be changes. But are these changes for the better? Some changes are beyond our control. But some are. So let us continue to do our duty as people of God. Let us be responsible people for Him; so that His Name may be glorified. Let us do our portion for Him who died for us and gave us eternal life! Let us strive to live lives that are not found wanting in any way, but be beacons of light for all who flounder in the sea of darkness in this present age!
As we celebrate our 21st Anniversary soon, let us do just that.
Finally, let us continue to uphold one another through our Care Groups and continue to pray for better things to come, in the knowledge that He is in control.
“Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.”
Hebrews 10:24-25
