So, this is about the end of the summer of 2008. As opposed to last summer, I wanted to get some things done and I must say I succeeded pretty well.
Last Monday, 30th June 2008, I graduated as a Bachelor in Applied Information Sciences at University College Ghent.
Last Tuesday, I enrolled as a student for the bridging programme for Master in Computer Science at Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
You need to keep it going. ;)
After exactly eight months without any new releases, I have put out UseBB 1.0.9, fixing the bugs found since the 1.0.8 release. Sadly, the RSS feed in this release does not work when friendly URLs are enabled. A fix can be found here.
There is no due date for 1.0.10, all work is now going to 2.0 development.
Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL) has confirmed an agreement with the SANS Software Security Institute. The goal is to better introduce security and secure programming in the courses at KUL. In other words, very good news.
I wonder how good or bad other universities (especially the VUB and Ugent) perform on this matter. In any case, security is a non-existing issue in the courses of Applied Information Sciences at Hogent.
Yesterday, the websites of a few Flemish TV stations (VTM, 2BE and JIM) were hacked by extremists. They obviously wanted to launch a religious message to the Belgian people and show off the unlimited powers they posses. These people are really dangerous, and the federal Police is looking for them. The development team of VTM's website has added additional security to keep the site from being hacked in the future.
Well, this must be about the short summary of the news report in "VTM Nieuws" yesterday evening. Now, what did actually happen?
