2006/10/31 Top Dripal Sites one year on the air.
Top Drupal Sites is one year old today. It was the first of drupalsites.net projects. But it is quite buggy and unstable nowadays unfortunately mostly because of spam hits (about 1.5 million a day). This amount of spam hits (and any bad activities) is not handled well by current software.
There is an idea of moving Top Sites to Drupal which could give better handling of everything. So any suggestions are welcome. Should be there a client side module for example ... so on.
2006/09/15 drupalsites.net is back
The upgrade is finished. It was not as smooth (due to some server issues) as it was planned. But what's new from now:
- New Drupal! Finally upgraded to 4.7.
- New subscription system. Please update your account settings.
- New (up/down) rating system. But the old votes are lost unfortunately.
- No more inline tags for your screenshots. Your attached screenshots will be displayed automatically.
- Anonymous comments are back.
- ... more updates to come quite soon. And without need to be offline so long.
Sorry it took so long and for any inconveniences. All things will go smoother from now (hopefully).
2006/09/09 drupalsites.net maintenance
Drupalsites.net is being migrated to a new server currently. It is closed for submissions till Monday (September 11) to keep everything in sync.
UPDATE: It will take 1-2 more days. But some nice new features are coming.

2006/07/13 Drupal Top Sites throttled
Due to massive spam submissions to Drupal Top Sites and traffic generated by top performers current server is not capable to handle this load. The main issue is that the other sites hosted on the same machine are in danger. So it is throttled from now and there may be some outages. Sorry for this. Realy.
But thanks to dreamhost who still tolerate such load on a shared host.
The plan is to move the site to another server or find some cure for submission spam or ... finally move top sites to Drupal but it needs a new module. All three solutions are currently in works.
