DrupalSites.net blog

2009/05/07 A bit of statistics + sponsorship!

During last year drupalsites.net was working steady with about 28,000 visitors and 150 new submissions and users per month. Where historically it could reach 4,000 listed sites late April this year, after The Big Cleanup currently we have a bit more then 3,000 sites listed and about 3,900 registered users.

It is nice to mention as well that last year the DrupalSites was featured a couple of times at Smashing Magazine, Lullabot and few other nice and popular sites, got it's place on Drupal.org and (quite crappy to be honest) booth at DrupalCon 2008 Szeded.

According to Google Analytics drupalsites.net currently accounts to (average per month):

2009/04/28 Profiles, twitter and more

A week after D6 update I updated a few things to make drupalsites.net even nicer and a better tool for Drupal community.

  • User profiles! Now you can submit your picture, personal and company information. This will help you to promote yourself with Drupal community and those interested in Drupal.
  • SEO: listing pages now has nofollow argument to avoid link-farming-ness in the eyes of search engines. Full node layout is linked directly to your site thought with no string attached.
  • New block with main RSS feeds and twitter!
  • Rules: Comments will be closed for posts which attracts too many spam bot comments.

2009/04/19 D6 update log

That wasn't an easy job to do. But it was much needed. This kind of spring cleaning is essential. And I'm absolutely happy with results. I'm terribly sorry it took so much longer then expected. So what was it all about:

2009/04/16 Updated! Drupal 6 is in da house.

The submissions, comments, voting are all open starting from now. There was a big chunk of work done on drupalsites.net. But there are some few rough edges to get on for theme to be done soon.

It was a great experience. But I believe we'll not suffer from such a downtime on submission in next few years. And after all it was the greatest clean up from very beginning back 2.5 years ago.

Please contact if you see any bugs and such. More info on what was done and the future developments will follow in a day or two.
